Thai-ing Us Together - Help save children

Thai Girl Saved from Prostitution In 2005, Chuck Murry, a member of the Rotary Club of Aggieland, brought a heart-wrenching story about how girls and boys were being stolen from Vietnam and Thailand and then sold on the black market in Thailand for the sex trade. He asked the Club for funds to send to an orphanage named the Redemptorist Street Kids Home that he had been working with to eradicate child prostitution in a Thai city called Pattaya.

Chuck's story of how the child in the picture to the left had never had an apple before in her life until he brought apples to the orphanage touched the Club in a profound way. He explained how as little money as $1,000 could help feed the entire orphanage for an entire year. In 2006, the Rotary Club of Aggieland sent $2,000 to the Redemptorist Street Kids Home and has plans to send $3,000 with hopefully another $2,000 in matching funds from Rotary International District 5910 for a total of $5,000 for 2007-2008.
