Carl joined BCS Habitat in September of 2013 and brings experience from a 20-year career in sales and marketing in the radio and television industry. Carl is a graduate of Texas A&M University. As a life-long resident of Bryan, Carl enjoys helping Habitat families realize their dream of owning their own home.

Coordinator of Community Engagement

Bryan Independent School District

 

I have had the privilege of serving as Bryan ISD's Coordinator of Community Engagement since June, 2017. Prior to this position, I had the honor of collaborating with an amazing group of educators at Ben Milam Elementary, where I worked for two years as the school principal. Before moving to Milam, I served as the principal at Navarro Elementary School in Bryan ISD for three years. 

 

My educational experiences include primary, secondary, and postsecondary  education. In 2011, I served as an assistant principal at Bryan High School. Between 2009-2011, I served as an assistant principal at James S. Hogg Middle School in Tyler, Texas. I was also an assistant principal at two different elementary schools in Tyler (Ramey and T.J. Austin). I started my educational career as a 2nd grade teacher and taught in 4th grade as well. Between 2010 and 2014, I worked as an adjunct professor at The University of Texas at Tyler  under the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.

 

I attended Universidad Iberoamericana in Puebla, Mexico and received my Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2001. I also attended the University of Texas at Tyler, and received my Masters of Education Degree in 2008. I received my Doctor of Education degree in May of 2011 from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. In the Spring of 2015, I started a graduate program at Texas A&M University in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture, where I continue to attend courses
